Well, to celebrate 50 years each completed between us, WE are the ones who are wanting to offer a gift to celebrate our anniversary.With the division of 50-50 between us, we indeed want to offer Financial support to two very important associations with whom we are affiliated. Two associations whose activities aim to support and mentor young adults who are handicapped in our society by severe autism and Intellectual developmental disorders often combined with psychiatric pathologies. These young people, namely the Heliotropes and the Ados Pilifs school young people deserve every chance to be their best as well.

The "Héliotropes"

The « Les Héliotropes » is a day and mobile Centre and was created in 2010, it is aimed at young adults who are diagnosed with both intellectual developmental disorders coupled with psychiatric pathologies. Due to this dual diagnosis they are unfortunately unable to be inscribed in regular residential care facilities. Their problems affect daily life within families and they experience changes in their behavior that no longer allow them to fit into a permanent structure of life. These are young people for whom their symptoms are considered too intrusive and unmanageable in normal homes for people with developmental difficulties. They need a place, where they can be welcomed and supported on a daily basis to provide relief for their families and where they can learn and participate in daily structured activities which they enjoy and allow them to integrate more successfully with family life.

So the work of the Heliotropes revolves around two complimentary elements:A mobile Intervention Unit and a Day Care Therapy Centre.

The admirable work of this association is not only essential for the residents themselves  but also for their families who are often very distressed and face a lack of suitable facility to manage their young 'heliotrope',  whose difficulties create some extremely challenging family situations.

The work of Nathalie Delvenne and her associate Gaëten Hourlay, together with all of their Volunteers and Carers, are simply amazing and command tremendous respect!
